oh my gosh i'm truly surprised i accomplished anything in my sewing room today having not followed any of this advice, but i guess i love to live in fear!

Oh my gosh I would be in such big trouble if any one would catch me in my sewing attire, flanel pants, oversized sweatshirt and felted slippers. I don't think I could do it any other way. So glad times have changed. Thanks for sharing!
Are we supposed to wear heels or are flats ok. LOL! What a hoot! If we followed this we'd never get anything done! I am so going to Pin this one! Thanks for the laugh!
I got this same little booklet with my featherweight machine. I laughed until I cried. If I followed these rules I would NEVER sew a stitch. Thanks for the laugh this morning!!
Thanks for the article , now I know why I can not sew/crreate until all chores are done and all in place.I am a little more relaxed on me, but not the house, business calls etc..... I always need to clear the way as I see sewing as something to do when work is done.Result my days and nights are very long and I am very tired. I was born in 1939 so I was raised with these concepts, I am always doing,now a retired teacher,musician,artist and pattern designer.I have been told I do so much and never stop. thanks for the eye opener,a sign of the times. LOL! I must have been born in the worng era! Never wore lipstick in my life, but I can't sit down to sew until my house is in order and I'm [sort-of] dressed, as in cargoes and clogs, t-shirt? I couldn't enjoy sewing if my house was a mess or dinner wasn t cooked. Just call me Miss Retro....
Funny!!! My Mil said I should always finish the mending/darning before making a fun project. HA! I can just buy more socks- I'm not darning them! I just say "DARN those socks" and throw them in the Round File or File 13 as mu Father said.
Hilarious! CHANGE OF THE TIMES. The last sentence is almost shocking! Isn't interesting how that article must have seemed so normal to all who read it back then BUT a crazy read for us 63 years later. Yikes!
Oh, Thank you!!! What an eye-opener for me! I know my mother always lived by those 'rules'. . . And that is the way I was raised, but honestly, I'd rather sew than clean house. . . Now I understand why I feel so guilty if I sit down to sew when the house isn't spotless and I'm not dressed and groomed to the hilt, in my 'Sunday best'!!
