remember this layout with the red cross blocks i made at my Thursday quilt class.....

well i finished more blocks, laid it all out and just not talking to me, tried a couple different layouts, different alternate fabrics......wasn't working for me....then....

this block, made a long time ago for what i don't even remember, laying right under my nose, grabbed it, that's it!

that's where it has sat till today, now thinking of adding this applique, not positive.....pieces not glued down yet......
add the applique or leave it plain......
that's the question......
got an answer for me......

How about adding the appliqué to the pink corners
ReplyDeleteHmmm...no on the applique....thanks
ReplyDeletemaybe that's just a tiny bit too busy? not sure about the true colors, but the crosses look red, and the middle pink on my computer. I do like the size of the midle block though, it breaks up the crosses well.
ReplyDeleteIn that lay out, seems a bit busy, but I am thinking if you shift to the pink as suggested, that might balance it out?

I really like it without the applique pieces, but maybe those could go in the next border/section outside the crosses!?! How big is it? How big do you want it go? lol
ReplyDeleteI really like those applique pieces, just not covering that great center!
Really loving the look of your quilt, but would love to see the appliqué on point, on the pink corners.
ReplyDeleteI'd also like to see it on the pin, en pointe.
ReplyDeleteHow about putting the applique flowers on the corners of the pink quilted square?
ReplyDeleteLove the look of the red cross squares.
Hmmm..it does look to be alittle busy the way you have it laid out, but I bet in person it looks great. I do agree with the other posters that the appliques should be moved to the pink corners :) HTH.

I would leave it plain! It´s so a nice Quilt. I think with apllique it is to busy.

I love those appliqué flowers they need to be a quilt all their own and a pattern!!!! PLEASE. love that shape love the flowers! but not on this quilt in mho
ReplyDeletelove the nine patch blocks by the way :)

Definitely the applique! Applique makes everything better, and I LOVE the shape and color of the flowers!!
ReplyDeleteI guess the piece is already sewn together? I would have put the applique in place of the 4 red cross blocks that are touching the center block. I do like those applique flowers, can't wait to see what you end up doing.
ReplyDeleteI love the peek you have given us on your design thoughts. Love the applique but not sure on this quilt. But no matter what you do it will be beautiful. Hugs
ReplyDeleteI love the way you add a little bit of applique and it changes the whole quilt!!
ReplyDeleteAdd the applique, it's your signature style. Love those red cross blocks, and how surprising to find a lonely block that just fits right in.
