spent a little time today in my sewing room, made some hourglass blocks, thought that fitting with the new year almost upon us.......
used leftovers triangles i had from the flying geese quilts i had made earlier this year and cut some light triangles to go with them.......they were cut from 3&1/4" squares, cut in half diagonally twice......
the alternate squares are cut 2&1/2" ........
thinking of doing a 1" wide black inner border and then a 2&1/2" wide print border....... may only do three sides for the border, like that antique look...... enjoy your last few hours of 2012 and see you in 2013 soon.......
Honor the past, celebrate the present, embrace the future........

Hourglass blocks for the New Year. Very cute--love this idea--may have to try it myself. : )
ReplyDeleteSo like you to leave us with a lovely 2012 parting quilty gift. I do like the thin black inner border - sets the blocks off nicely. Thank you for your generosity throughout the year. Happy and healthy New Year to you and Greg.

I love the way you keep and then USE the leftovers for another little quilt. And then give us the dimensions so we can make one, too. This one is darling!
