well i started by making the darker one, using my usual color choices, made even grungier with some tea staining but with Easter coming, thought i would also stitch one up using Easter Egg colors, quite sweet but not quite me....... so...... if you are more inclined to decorate with the pretty, brighter quilt then maybe i should just give it to you? which you? let me know and also make sure i have an email address to contact you for your home address.....
if you want to stitch one or two up of your own, i simply used 3 & 1/2" squares, sashing pieces 1 & 1/4" x 3 & 1/2", setting squares 1 & 1/4" ........

what a generous gift! I usually like dark colours, especially red, but at this time of year here in England, we are ready for some light bright colours!

ReplyDeleteLove the Easter egg colours. It's always nice to try something outside our comfort zone. I usually tend toward the darker, Civil War fabrics, but this little quilt is so sweet.

Both quilts are so pretty and look to be quilted very nicely. I might have to just make one for myself. I like brighter colours for Easter and to welcome spring.

I love your quilts, Cheri. Dark or Bright they are all special. I have to admit I am more prone to the bright but live with my daughter who leans to the dark side. I love both the darker and the brighter when it comes to quilting. I love Civil War reproductions, but am liking many of the modern fabrics and quilts, too. I am trying to open myself up to having a bigger range.

ReplyDeleteI used to like the drab, country primitive colors, but now I am into vintage, 30's vintage to be exact!!! I still love primitive but mostly use colors of the 30's now!! I do love your quilt you made, it would look great in my living room!
