what's for dinner?
i love pasta salads for anytime but greg's not as fond of the "carb foods" as i am.......so i saw on Pintrest, of course, a pasta salad using orzo "excellent idea i said" ..........so here's mine with broccoli, cauliflower, peas, carrots, olives, red & garbanzo beans, edamame, peppers, red onion, zucchini, yellow squash, cherry tomatoes, cilantro, goat cheese and a little italian dressing, looks perfectly refreshing for a light, already done and cool dinner tonight, spending my day cleaning our pool area for summer fun.........
now i am vegetarian but you could add a little chicken "poor hens" to yours, sometimes i let greg do that!!!!

what's on my cutting board......
a scrappy little quilt......
off early tomorrow morning to my sister's June Lake Quilt Camp and this is a little mystery quilt they will be sewing, if you'd like to sew along, prepare......
twenty-five 4-patches (made with 1&1/2" squares)
sixteen 2&1/2" squares
four 2&1/4" squares, cut diagonally once
sixteen 4&1/8" squares, cut diagonally twice
i used muslin as the alternate fabric on 4-patches.....i didn't use the same fabric twice for any of the other pieces, very scrappy, but of course the variety is up to you.....will post the finished little scrap quilt at the end of the week.....
enjoy your sewing time

abcdefg.....
i'm drawn to alphabets in quilts, samplers and such, are you? the next sew along will be an antique inspired alphabet sampler quilt with a few of my own creative changes......this will be a summer spilling into fall sew along, there are thirty blocks total in the quilt, twenty-six letters and four extra blocks, i'll post two blocks a week.....
my fabric choices were red, green, muslin and a little burnt orange.....had these fabrics already in my collection and happened to have a yard of each the red and green, used every square inch i had but it was enough.....so you may want to have a little extra on hand or just say to yourself if i run out, i'll make do, which is what i would have done if need be....
my top is together and hope to start quilting it soon, will post a finished picture soon....so go collect your fabrics, will post a & b this week.....
this quilt will not be given away after sew along is finished but i hope to throw in a couple other little fun antique inspired quilt projects this summer that i will part with....
see you in a couple days.....
