am so blessed.......

was so touched to read today on Kelley's blog With Hook and Needle that one of my pattern designs has brought a much needed distraction of handwork to her mother, who is worried for her ill husband.....
I am so blessed with so many joys in my life and very glad that one of them has brought joy to another......

if when Lucy is scowling at me, it's pure joy......

flea market finds......

enjoyed a walk around the Long Beach Antique Show today, a few of my finds......

a worn, much loved antique quilt......

picnic basket, have a few, love stacking them and a rusty funnel to start my Pintrest inspired funnel Christmas tree......



and hubby found a old water bag that is used to keep the radiator cool on hot, long trips in the Model A.......

cheddar bits......

finished my cheddar and scraps half square triangle quilt yesterday.....


I used 1/2 yard of cheddar fabric......
half square triangles were 2 & 7/8" squares, cut once diagonally......
cheddar strips are 2 & 1/2" wide......
it was that simple......

have been shopping.....

haven't been sewing much, really not a all, since I finished pumpkin seeds.....my daughter, Lucy's "mo mo" that's what she calls mommy, has been remodeling and moving into a new home, lots of work that's hard to do with Lucy underfoot, so I have had Lucy hanging with me a lot consequently no sewing but we have been shopping filling Grammy's sewing room with new fun fabrics......

pumpkin seeds.....

cut center section to 12 & 1/2" before adding borders.....
borders.....
first border ~ half square triangles ~ 2 & 3/8" squares, cut diagonally once.....make eight per side.....
corners ~ 2" squares.....



second border.....
cut four 12 & 1/2" x 2" muslin..... 2" squares from muslin and orange print.....



finished.....

cut setting side triangles ~ 7 & 5/8" squares, cut diagonally twice......
cut setting corners ~ 4 & 1/8" squares, cut once diagonally.....
cut one 5" square for center block.....
