sunny days....

what to do on a sunny day.....tea dye, of course!!!  my new homespuns getting their stain on...the quilt is one from a kit i purchased at Road to Calif. reproduction of an antique pyramid quilt, the kit was for a small 14" square but i added to make it a little larger, now it's getting aged....i purchased the kit from Sandra D McCay Antiques one of my favorite booths....easy to make i mean if i can you can....now back to cutting for half square triangles, have three quilts in the works that are using them must be my block of the moment....and no i don't use triangle paper, tried a couple of times it's just the having to sit and pull all the paper off YUCK!  not my thing, can't paper piece either don't understand it...tried, i really did, my brain does not comprehend that whole process and the there's the paper issue again....oh well it's like algebra only barely passed that class in school with a tutour....enjoy cheri

I usually save tea staining for summer, too cold to do it now.
I like how the sun absorbs the water and leaves nice aged spots on the piece.

I haven't tea dyed a thing out here in the east . . . soon enough I will be back in business in beautiful, sunny soCal!
Like you, I don't care for triangle paper but I can (with lots of mental exhaustion) paper piece. Now templates, that's another story. Can't for the life of me figure out how to piece using templates. Go figure.

Sounds like if you were to do this on Saturday that the fabrics would freeze ! Am getting things ready to stitch by the fireplace!
