wool and sandy toes......

what!?!
well the wool toes belong to my A Primitive Christmas Ornaments and the sandy ones, are so lucky to be mine, heading off tomorrow morning for Hawaii......oh my gosh, so excited......
won't be back till December 9th, oooops!!!! that's after my blog post date of December 7th, sweetly Stacy Nash has switched with me......oh me! now i just realized i am having to follow after her, what i'm sure is to be "too die for" ornament...... stressed, a little, but i'm sure relaxing in the sun, sand & surf will melt away any worries.......

sew thankful......

been busy having way too much with candies & chocolate today.......me, Papa, Cooper & Analisa created these sweet Thanksgiving delights for our holiday table....... so very adorable

breakfast muffins......

brown sugar & sour cream muffins...... simplified

in one bowl mix together.......
3 cups all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt
1&1/2 teaspoon baking soda
set aside......

in another bowl mix together......
1 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup + 2 tablespoons canola oil
3/4 cup sour cream
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup shredded carrots
1/3 cup raisins
1/4 roasted sunflower seeds

add dry ingredients to wet, little at a time and mix together.......bake in lined or baking sprayed muffin tins at 400' for 20 to 25 minutes.......let cool and serve with butter, delicious......

sew thankful.......

you will need from background 2" squares and 5" squares......i used most of a half yard piece.....
sew your nine patches into five blocks with background corners and twelve blocks with nine patch corners..... i was one nine patch short, not to worry, used a four patch that was laying around, cut down to size...... just a make do kinda gal....






now i now how busy we can all be around the holidays, just no time to whip this little charmer up, well aren't you lucky, this little primitive quilt could be coming to your house for the holidays.......

sew thankful......

i am so very thankful for so many things, one of which is that i am able to share with you a little primitive scrap nine patch sew along....... this is how i stitch together my scrap nine patches......
first i sew small sections of prints to strips of muslin, i'm using 1" wide strips, cut these apart, iron open and sew some with muslin, some with another print to opposite side......iron open, cut into 1" sections and sew together into nine patches......
eighty of these little nine patches will make you a primitive Thanksgiving quilt for your holiday table.......







still need to quilt mine so you've got a couple days or so.......

Lucy had a photo shoot yesterday in her pink, flouncy outfit at our local rustic park...... of course Grandma wanted Lucy, ruffled roses and all, on the chippy, rusty old farm piece, she'll be adorable in them all I have no doubt......

homespun heaven.....

i count myself thankful to live so close to three of the best quilt shops ever......i live in homespun & reproduction heaven.....
some of you ask where do you buy your fabrics, have so many choices, feed your fabric addiction?
