today i had a pajama party all day, just me and my sewing machine were there and boy did we party!
first off i finished Cooper's quilt top, must admit it has been a bit of a challenge, not block wise but his choice of fabrics.....CraZy! but he is an eight year old boy!
when i took him to the fabric store pick his choices, he is particular, and so i wanted his input, came up with the fish, universe and rock & roll prints..... Oh My!
talked him into adding a few plaids, checks and such..... he only wanted squares, just squares, so this is what i came up with..... now Cooper is a follow the rules, fun boy but likes to stay within the lines, so to speak...... so when Grandma wants dessert before dinner, makes up words for the routine books and likes to change game rules, he gets thrown off, always ends up having fun, but fusses a little..... so i followed the pattern so perfectly and then when ironing the last section,WhOopS! Grandma flipped the blocks on the very last row, gave a thought to fixing it, but no this is imperfect, fun and different just like his Grandma!
also stitched up this small quilt top with the leftover triangles from my Envelope Quilt.....
the triangles started from 4&1/8" squares, cut twice diagonally...... they finish to 2" square.....
red setting triangles are also 4&1/8" squares, cut twice diagonally and 2&3/8" squares, cut once diagonally for the top and lower edges.....
green sashing strips are cut 2&1/2" wide....
worked on other blocks and pieces but am keeping those under wraps till ready for next sew a long......
with Greg out of town on a business trip, i will party on!
