have been inspired by Lori at Notforgotten Farm to do some no count, free hand cross stitching......
whipped up a little quilt yesterday morning with a center block for stitching then cross stitched the heart and words in the time it took me to watch Under the Gunn, a Project Runway spin off......
I drew on my heart shape with a Frixion pen by Pilot and started stitching away with three strands of white embroidery floss.....
quilted the little quilt today, sewing on binding tonight, will wash, tea dye and share the finished quilt with you soon.....
you can visit http://farmhousenotforgotten.blogspot.com to see Lori's Crash Course on free hand cross stitching and her primitive patterns, using this technique, which I will be stitching on as soon as I receive them.....

Your piece came out wonderfully, love the idea of free hand cross stitch and since I cannot see the holes on the aida cloths, this would probably be easier, lol.

love the colors, and the free hand!
I need to do some!
Needlework is so relaxing. Thanks for the link to your inspiration. I used to cross-stitch all the time but have not done it in quite some time... but it seems you may have sparked my drive!
looking good Cheri...the freedom of no counting sure works for my tired eyes...
Well the sneak peak looks fabulous! Can hardly wait to see the finish!
can't wait to see your little piece all stained and finished ~ oh, and you should have your patterns today!! :))))

I read Lori's post a few days ago but how she cross stitches free-hand. An interesting concept and definitely a prim look. You have put it to good use in your new little quilt.
I'm new to wool this year and added your blog to my blogroll as I found lots of inspiration here!! THANK YOU! Stop by: myplvl.blogspot.com
