Pepperberries

remember this variation of a sawtooth star block quilt that i started in my thursday quilt class awhile ago.....finally got some appliqued leaves and berries added, calling it Pepperberries.......

cotton bolls.....

my package of cotton bolls arrived and i was so excited to have them add a bit of homespun nature to my home, twigs went in this green Bauer pitcher.....


loose ones filled this green bowl......



and then the next morning my cats obviously decided to do some redecorating with the twigs, guess they like cotton as much as i do......

cut from red.....two 2&7/8" squares, cut once diagonally.... four 1&7/8" squares, cut once diagonally.....two 1&1/2" x 3&1/2" and one 1&1/2" x 7&1/2"......
from background......two 2&7/8" squares, cut once diagonally....four 1&7/8" squares, cut once diagonally....four 1&1/2" squares and four 1&1/2" x 2&1/2".....

block three......
four 2&1/2" red squares, four 1&1/2" x 3&1/2" yellow strips, one 1&1/2" center square and twenty red/yellow half square triangles made with 1&7/8" squares, cut once diagonally......

block one...... four 3&1/2" squares, four 1&1/2" x 3&1/2" strips and one 1&1/2" square......



block two......center square 1&1/2", sew 1" strips around all four sides of center square six times.....



block three tomorrow.....

labor of love......

sharing little antique inspired quilts should you be spending your Labor Day sewing away on labors of love...... just put together with two components.....
four patch....1&1/2" squares......
half square triangles.....2&7/8" squares, cut once diagonally.....
