greg's leftovers quilt....



i did not make this block pattern up....first saw & was inspired by Lori @ Humble Quilts when i saw it on her blog, which i know most of you have followed way before me...didn't pay attention to her block size & did do a different layout....
my finished block size is 6"
the four patches were made with 1&1/4" strips
the alternate squares are 2" for small & 3&1/2" for large
i made 100 squares and most are with a light & dark four patch & one background but then every once in a while i threw in a more scrappy looking block for just because....

the beginning....




watching Dancing with the Stars, who's your favorite? mine's Ricki Lake she's so cute...just finished the binding of five new holiday quilts, they're in the wash now and tea dying tomorrow....and in these are the beginning of a scrappy hexagon quilt....are your hands always stitching as mine are?

my favorite homespun.....



was so disappointed to learn that Indo US would not be printing any homespun fabrics any longer, has always been my background fabric of choice....now I'm excited to let you know that Michelle Fat Quarters owner has found for me & you the perfect replacement fabric same feel & colors, especially the red solid, as i use it lots and it is the red used for the winter project in Primitive Quilts & other Projects...

a little christmas.....

ooops....



spending the day machine quilting on a few finished xmas designs, ran out of bobbin thread and while changing the bobbin found this little spring had sprung, probably not good....machine is still sewing with feed dogs down going to try and get through them all before the machine possibly goes boing!!!

baking day....



it's cold, dark & blustery outside a storm is brewing, lucky for me i get to be inside where the smell of banana bread is filling my warm & cozy home....for my recipe scroll down past all posts to labels, click on recipes, it's the best scrumtious banana bread i've ever had....
well now i'm off to my sewing for a little playtime before dinner...

well obviously i was wrong because the recipe wasn't there, sorry everyone, here it is now....

                                                                
Banana Bread
preheat oven to 350'
combine these ingredients and mix until blended
1 cup vanilla yogurt
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup oil
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups mashed bananas, i do 4
mix in these dry ingredients
4 cups flour
1 cup sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
then add 1 cup chocolate chips & 1 cup chopped walnuts
grease two 9x5 loaf pans with cooking spray and bake at 350' for 50-60 mins.

now you can start your baking....

started working with some red and green, probably could be my favorite colors to quilt with....played around with santa, too....it may have been 100' outside but in my sewing room i was stitching up some winter quilts....

here are the cutting measurements for october's primitive little quilt....
four patches made with 1&1/2" squares
alternate blocks are 2&1/2" squares
for setting triangles cut 4&1/8" squares, cut diagonally twice...corners are 2&1/4" squares, cut diagonally once
top and bottom border are 2&1/2" wide...sides are 1&1/2" wide
didn't even notice that one of my four patches was flipped till i took the picture, will you do that too?
