summer stars.....

here are my summer stars from Temecula Quilt Co.'s sew along...... to minimize the amount of fabric i needed to haul in the house i decided on a two color approach and what's with the 1&3/16" cutting for squares and strips, it took my non mathematical brain awhile to figure out where that even was on the ruler!!!!  so i did the nine patch but opted for a solid square than the stripped one......
enjoy your sunday

You're ahead of me by one block! Love the two color approach, especially the "solid" center block substitution. How creative!!

I took lessons years ago using the quick corner Mary Ellen Hopkins' method, but get along with the triangles after working on your Folkart Gathering which is still in progress. I do a lot of quilting during NASCAR races. Nice to see your two color selections for the Stars. Can't have enough reds and bkgrnds with red.

Had put this project aside to do at a later date------now I just love it seeing your 2 color color way. Think I will do it in dk brown and tan, thanks for giving me another choice. Sometime my brain just does a freeze.

Sometimes that quilt math can go awry. Good solution!

I'm with you on the 1/16" cutting requirement. Made me a little crazy - I didn't have trouble figuring out where to focus on my ruler, but the idea that I needed to cut 1/16" of an inch hurt my head! I know it's important to be exacting, but... oy. My block turned out fine though, so that's good. LOVE your two color approach.
