a present for me......

YeS! that is my age as of tomorrow, went to Road to California last week with friends, bought MySeLF a present....... the Emily Munroe Quilt pattern....

an absolutely wonderful folk art quilt c.1865, applique blocks done "kettle quilt" style...... made with coarse wools, twill and cottons....
here's whats inside.....

i love the couching done on and around the appliques......

so i had to also purchase these old spools of wool threads, only $1 each, great find...... had the army blanket green.... perfect for some of the blocks.....
not sure that i will make the quilt in it's entirety but will probably have fun with a smaller version or even frame individual blocks...... possibilities are endless....

Happy Happy Happy Birthday! my friend just bought that pattern from Hoopla patterns too, she does a great job with patterns of antique quilts. I am thinking of getting it too and making it with cotton instead of wools...its beautiful isn't it? its in a few of my antique quilt books. I have always admired it.
yes the quilt is so you!
Happy Birthday!
