I must admit I have a secret, I don't share with many.....i will & do buy fabrics from Walmart.... I know that's a no no but I love the way the cheap muslin tea dyes, my favorite and when i am in I look at other fun/funky fabrics.....some which turn out to be favorites!
now they must be 100% cotton....i do have some morals!
most/99% of my fabric shopping is at quilt shops but every once in awhile..... I see a fabric that just strikes my fancy and in the basket it goes.....
so Kathie that is why do not recognize that white/black (tea dyed, of course) I used in the sew a long! and they only had one fat quarter which is disappointing as I love it......
feel much better after sharing my long held secret!
here's Lucy helping me pull out a couple other Walmart favorites..... she's saying "ahhhhh" as pulls and checks out each one..... a true quilter in the making.....
other cheap favorite fabrics......

*LOL* I can feel the shock waves ripple through the quilt world! : )
LOL, I think we are all guilty of trying to save a bit of money at the super stores. Ours used to have a lot of nice fabrics and I liked the upholstery section, you could get some nice weights for quilting too. They did keep our fabrics and have some nice ones and I do like getting the cheap homespuns for rugs.

I will stop at walmart tomorrow and see if they have any of that grey :)

ps Lucy is adorable love that she is ooohhh and aaaahhh over the fabrics!
Such a terrible secret! I think most of us are guilty of trying to save money where we can these days.:) I know I buy the rare piece of fabric there, esp. for backing fabrics!
Say it ain't so...
I feel so much better---I have felt like 'the only child that didn't fit in' because I too have Walmart fabrics in my stash. Some of us just can't afford the quilt shop prices but we still want to play too. :) Thank you for sharing your secret with us---Lucy is such a cutiepie :D
Our Walmart has some great stuff too. Such a sweet post! I'm doing your quiltalong.~
Lucy (in IN)
Have the Quilt Police come knocking on your door yet?
I also buy fabric from Walmart. I have noticed their prices have gone up a bit. I love their kid prints, makes great donation quilts and wonderful pillow cases. I have made quilts from their fabric and haven't had any problems with bleeding or extra shrinkage or falling apart. Thanks for being brave enough to share your secret with us and know you are not alone in fabric shopping at Walmart.
Ahhhhh... lol... sooo cute!
Ah - permission. It's a good thing!
Great blog post. Little Lucy certainly looks interested in each and every piece.
what fun Lucy is having checking out the stash...love seeing pics of her...
as for WM...have never even looked at more than their weavers and muslins...
