long road trip....

i'm home from quilt camp, getting house clean & back in order and now leaving on a long road trip to Missouri and returning with grandkids Dominic and Olivia....we will be towing behind us our new little trailer, isn't it too cute!
when i see you again it will July....

just found out last night my baby girl Katilyn Rose is having a baby!!!
so happy to be grandma again, i bought this rattle years ago in anticipation for this day as since she was young she has collected antique happy faces on ventures with me....can't stop smiling!!!

been busy.....

in the last week I've started & finished twenty-four quilts Whewww!!!  my fingers are tired but i'm done...
six new patterns designed and lots of little giveaway quilts for June Lake Quilt Camp....
this one is named Not Fancy....
didn't get Folkart Gathering block 6 done yet, hopefully by summer's end....

what have i done today....

has been one of those very productive days spent in my jammies, i did brush my teeth this morning but no other personal upkeep has been done...
i've quilted and put binding on a couple quilts, borders on penny quilts, made three little quilt tops for raffle prizes (need to do more), stitched strips together for next project and washed, folded and put away summer clothes for Dominic and Livy's vacation in calif. soon (can hardly wait!)....oh i also beat my highest score on CandySwipe, my fav game....
and ate just a few of those M&M's!!!
break time over back to the sewing machine...

feedback....

penny quilt new idea i'm working on, of course needs borders and such...i'm making so many designs right now, getting ready for my sister's quilt camp and need to have new patterns in a week ahhhh!!!
i get so wound up creatively, work well under pressure but sometimes not sure if i'm headed in the right direction...
let me know if i'm sewing down the right path or not....

ironing....

i find ironing my husband's shirts for work to be a dreaded chore each day as you can tell by the pile i only iron one at a time....
but yet i can stand at the iron for hours ironing quilt blocks and enjoy it!

ever wondered?

as i'm winding bobbins and making binding, twelve yards worth this morning, i started wonderering in my 20 years of quilting how many bobbins have i wound, yards of binding been made, many needles been changed, bolts of fabric bought, cut and stitched back together, spools of thread used and miles sewn on my machine?
how many miles is it to go around the whole world, have i sewn my way around once or many?
just wondering.....

black squares cut 2"
setting side triangles cut 3&1/2" square cut diagonally twice
corners cut 2" square cut diagonally once
border is cut 5" wide
and now you've got a new small quilt...

                                              Willing Hands and Monday's Quilt

home again....

back home from family camping trip to Hume Lake in the Sierras....end of May but can be very cold still as we have found before, checked the weather app once, twice, several times....mostly sunny, low sixties, 20% chance of a shower saturday, was sunny and 67' degrees when we arrived, rain that night after campfire and we were all tucked in tents, okay that's fine.....next morning after breakfast started to sprinkle no it's SNOWING!!!! we were all like little kids jumping around with excitement, laughing, building tiny snowmen, throwing snowballs until we realized it's brrrrr cold.....so off we pile into the trucks with heaters ahhhh now i can feel my fingers and toes....next day it's back to sunny again thank goodness....
back home loving my warm and comfortable bed.....
