i find ironing my husband's shirts for work to be a dreaded chore each day as you can tell by the pile i only iron one at a time....
but yet i can stand at the iron for hours ironing quilt blocks and enjoy it!
Time to get yourself an ironing lady. Don't you deserve one. Best thing I ever did. I just give her the ironing and a bundle of coat hangers and they come back all ready to hang in his wardrobe.
One of my husband's shirts is sitting on the iron board as I write. Last week-end I ironed fabrics and completed blocks without one complaint. But that one shirt....
He's retired so he doesn't really need to wear shirts that need ironing anymore. I've been buying him really nice silk shirts at thrift shops to wear when we go to town or visiting and that helps. I've also picked up a few he doesn't like and I'm thinking of making those into a small quilt.
I confess I really don't mind ironing. My husband doesn't wear that kind of shirt any more but I almost miss that time of ironing and praying for him as I ironed. blessings, marlene
I too have a mountain of shirts to press for my DH. I used to be so on top of running the household chores but lately I just seam to be running in circles and getting nothing done. I'm so behind in everything from blogging, cleaning, gardening, sewing. I can finally say I've completed my first quilt on my Gammill and I've had my machine close to a year.......the good news is I like how it turned out so I'm not going to wait that long to load a second quilt....happy ironing!!

Have a wonderful evening~Becky
You're too funny. My question is - why, exactly, do you iron your hubby's shirts??? ;o) Smiles & Hugs, Robin
I agree with you. Normal iron is the worst.
I see some nice fabric there, lol.
I am the same way, fabric is more fun to iron when it is going into a quilt.

I'd be turning those shirts into a really nice quilt...your hubby may have to start wearing t-shirts!! haha
Take care...and happy ironing!

Looks like a Bonnie Hunter quilt to me! Stuff him in a T-shirt and head for the sewing room with those!

I hate to iron clothes and rarely do it. It is all about the Downy Wrinkle Release! I would not survive without it!
