cotton bolls.....

my package of cotton bolls arrived and i was so excited to have them add a bit of homespun nature to my home, twigs went in this green Bauer pitcher.....

loose ones filled this green bowl......

and then the next morning my cats obviously decided to do some redecorating with the twigs, guess they like cotton as much as i do......

I was thinking to myself while reading this, that wouldn't last 5 minutes in my house with the two cats. Love your Bauer vase! My mom used to have a few pieces of that.

Cats do have opinions of their own about decorating, don't they? Did the bolls survive being 're-placed'?

I like how those look as decorations, really nice idea.

I love cotton bolls! Never thought of a bowl of bolls as deocration. Duh! When I was traveling in Arizona I nearly drove off the road gawking at the fields of cotton. I finally did o pull over and snagged a few bolls to pet. I should follow the much more legitimate route you chose and order them.

Can you imagine the smells those cotton pieces must have on them?? At least the cats did not knock over the pitcher!! Fun decorations!!

I actually picked cotton when I was little in the delta region of west Tennessee. I grew up on that cotton farm. I bought some on ebay once, it was falling apart but I still have some of it. Yours looks very pretty in your rooms and its the right month to display it since they pick it starting in September. I have seen wreaths made out of it too.

Ahhh yes...kitty redecorating. I'm quite familiar with that. I've never seen actual cotton on the stems. Awesome...very prim!

It's amazing how observant those little furry creatures are. Mine can spot something different in place ven when it is well beyond his eye sight.
